**UPDATE**
We have applied a fix to our Captive Portal Networks to ensure guests using Windows 11 are redirect to the Portal page. Click here to see the Changelog.
Released late last year, Windows 11 is the latest version of the Windows operating system.
Unfortunately for us, and for all providers that use a Captive Portal to get guests connected, the latest version of the operating system has an unexpected, and rather annoying feature missing (bug).
Windows 11 does not automatically pop open the the Captive Portal page when the device connects to WiFi which makes it more difficult for guests to connect to the internet.
All other operating systems, including Android, Apple iOS and Windows 10 are working as expected. The issue is NOT originating on the Captivnet platform, it is an operating system issue and has been escalated to Microsoft for a fix. If you’re a Windows insider you can upvote the issue here.
There is a workaround for Windows 11 users on Captivnet sites:
1) Type Logout.net in your chosen browser
2) This will manually bring up the authentication portal
3) Authenticate using the guest wifi portal
4) You should now be online
